Oil Paintings

I began using water miscible oil paint in 2018. Initially started with an under-painting in monotones to establish values. I soon found that this can be done more quickly using acrylic paint.

This acrylic under-painting is based on a black and white photo of my maternal grandmother.

Summer Concert - 16x20 oil on canvas - $400.00

This painting is composed from several sketches in done in the Nicola Valley. The figures are from my imagination. The instruments are from the middle ages – left to right, rebec (ancestor of the violin), hurdy-gurdy and bombard.
