Oil Paintings

I began using water miscible oil paint in 2018. Initially started with an under-painting in monotones to establish values. I soon found that this can be done more quickly using acrylic paint.

One of my first attempts with oil – this composition in a composite from several sketches made at a favourite location near Merritt BC.
This acrylic under-painting is based on a black and white photo of my maternal grandmother.
Nana Rose – the final oil painting in colour; 16″ x 20″ – colour scheme entirely developed by me
This 16″ x 20″ oil painting titled “Imagine That!” was developed from a very old sketch made in France in 1977.
Original sketch of Despina made in Greece in 1976 – graphite on paper approx. 8″ x 10″
